As part of the ‘More Than a Club’ project, Conwy Borough Football Club are coordinating a ‘Memory Walk’ and invite members of the community in Conwy to attend. This forms part of Alzheimer’s Society’s awareness campaign and Vi-Ability’s joint collaboration with the Football Association of Ireland to promote positive health and wellbeing in the community.
The 3 mile walk starts at Conwy Borough Football Club, will walk up to The Mulberry Pub and then along the coastal path to the famous Conwy Castle. Then it will loop back around to the football club on Penmaen Road.
We will then welcome everyone back to Conwy Football Club’s clubhouse where we will meet representatives from Alzheimers UK who will be attending to share some information and ways that people can show their support for individuals suffering from the disease.
The Alzheimers UK annual Cupcake day is on the 14th June, so our community volunteers will have decorated some yummy cupcakes which will be sold after the walk along with some teas, coffees and a chance to chat with members of the community and local organisations.
